Bronx Heroes Comic Con
HISTORY
The Bronx Heroes Comic Con emerged from the art exhibit, "Dream Sequence" which was curated by Ray Felix . It debut at the Longwood Gallery. Dream Sequence was an exhibit consisting of 24 artists, which dealt with Fine and sequential art themes. It incorporated painting and photographs dealing with the dream, the unconscious and comic art. The second tier of the Dream Sequence show was the Bronx Heroes Comic Con which was a one day weekend event at Hostos College. Bronx Heroes Comic Con involved 21 additional artists from the Bronx and Tri-State area. The Bronx Heroes Comic Convention is a free community exhibition designed to bring together the Bronx community and expose them to one of America's oldest art forms in commercial art. Bronx residents get the opportunity to meet and greet with comic professionals who reside in the five boroughs and Tri-state area. Our goal is to attract and educate aspiring artists and writers and create a forum where they can interact with professionals in the comic book field, gain encouragement and make connections towards a career in the comic book art field. Bronx Heroes Comic Con is sponsored by Bronx Council of the Arts, The Dept. of Cultural Affairs, Bronx Museum , and BronxNet a community television network.

Bronx Heroes Comic
Bronx Heroes Comic was conceived by two studios, Cup O Java Studio and Creative One Comics. Within these two studios were a collective of artists who helped develop, contribute and produce the many concepts and characters which came to be known as the Bronx Heroes. Under the wing of Cup O Java Studio were artists Ray Felix, Louis Gonzalez, Christopher Duckett, Mike Klein, Edwin Shan and Kasim Earl. Under Creative One Comics were writer Ed Mouzon, graphic designer / comic artist Gary Camp, artists Louis Sierra and Winston Blakely.
